The weekend following the 24th of July brings Oakley's Pioneer Days Celebration, with a championship rodeo, gymkhana, deep pit BBQ, Dutch oven cook-off, parade, pony express race, fireworks and 10k run.  The city park, grocery stores, gas stations, and Oakley RV park are available. For more information call (208) 862-3313.
The arena is adjacent to Oakley RV Park within walking distance.

The City of Rocks National Reserve lies in Cassia County 15 miles southeast of Oakley and 4 miles west of Almo.  Over time, weathering processes have created thousands of unique features on the many granite domes.

Among the unique features are the Twin Sisters.  Both Sisters rise some 62 stories.  The westernmost Sister is estimated at 3 billion years old and is one of the oldest exposed formations in the world.

One and one half miles south of the Twin Sisters is the junction of the California and Salt Lake-California connection trails which the pioneers used.
